The Official NIBS Case Competition Rules and Guidelines are the backbone of the case competition and ensures the integrity and consistency of the competition.
Download Guidelines (PDF)1.0 ELIGIBILITY1.1 CriteriaThe Competition is open to any student registered, for the duration of the competition, in an undergraduate (bachelor level or equivalent) – business program (commerce, administration, management, etc.) at any member institution of the Network of International Business Schools or through special invitation made by the host institution.
1.1 Team Composition
One team in the Qualifying Round may represent each member institution. This team is composed of four eligible students, and one time only participants.
1.2 AdvisorAn advisor from each member institution will be determined to serve as liaison with the host institution.
1.3 Registration FeeEach member institution wishing to enter a team for the Qualifying Round is required to pay a registration fee of €250 by 1 November 2009
1.4 Qualifying for the Championship RoundThe top eight teams of the Qualifying Round will be invited to compete in the Championship Round, along with a team from the host institution, and the previous year’s competition winners, who both receive a bye into the Championship Round. One spot in the final round will be kept for a team who is a “new entrant” in order to increase the number of participating schools.
2.0 QUALIFYING ROUND: RULES AND REGULATIONS2.1 Important Dates1 November 2009 - Deadline to enter a team, Institutions that wish to enter the Qualifying Round must have completed and returned the registration form and submitted the registration fee of $250 within the deadline.
30 November 2009 - Qualifying round case will be e-mailed to all member institutions that have notified the organizers of their intention to enter the competition and paid the registration fee.
7 December 2008 - A complete case analysis must be sent by email or courier.
18 December 2008 - Qualifying round finalists announced.
7 - 13 March 2010 - Final Competition - teams compete in Kolding.
3.0 THE CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND: RULES AND GUIDELINESBased on the qualifying round, nine teams (the previous year’s winner and the top eight entrants) will be invited to compete in the Championship Round. The Championship will be held at the International Business Academy in Kolding, DK, during the week beginning 7 March 2010; teams should arrive no later than 6 March.
